The story
A bride trapped in a brutal marriage longs to belong to the kind man next door. When her husband dies she is free to marry him, but her husband's younger brother has come to claim her.
Christina lives in fear of her husband, General Oldman. Through a hole in the fence she watches her neighbour, Dr Newman, and longs for the love she sees in his house. He will not take another man's wife. Then news comes that General Oldman has been killed, and at Dr Newman's gate a wedding gown is waiting for her.
Her new life has barely begun when Mr Temptation, General Oldman's younger brother, arrives to claim her as part of his inheritance. The Misplaced Bride is an allegory of Romans 6 to 8: the old life that has died, the grace that keeps, and the Spirit who teaches a bride to live free.
